annoying things people do for car ads

Why do people do that... is what I'm thinking when I see lines vacuumed into carpets on used car adverts.

Anything else that winds people up like this does for me?

POA thing annoys my st.

99.9% of us buy normalish cars so why the secrecy? I’m not going to phone you up to find out the price of a Merc or a hot Ford. I know roughly how much they go for so you’re on a hiding to nothing.

It’s the one thing that’ll make me scroll past your ad without looking.

These people will keep you guessing all the time. If you do contact them they'll say "well how much do you want to offer" - which is so dumb because the obvious answer is "30 pence, if you'll accept". And then it'll be all that... "it's worth more I think, don't waste my time" ect, ect... morons... just name your price.

A long list of items such as 'yellowstuff pads' and 'rear wiper delete' but don't tell you what the mileage is or if it has any service history.

blanking off the reg is by far my biggest annoyance in the ad's pics. If someone wanted to a clone a car they could just go on google, walk down the street, etc etc.

maybe im not looking into it enough but it does make my eyes roll lol.

"Loaded with extras" or "All the usual extras" but the car is completely standard specification without a single extra on it, even if it is well equipped.

I would just assume 'rear wiper delete' meant that it had fallen off... Not an endorsement of seller's attitude to maintenance!

I was fully triggered by this one as they've gone vertically up the back of the seats and side panels as well as the boot floor. Must have to do some serious bending around to get it done. And some strategic planning as well, to make sure you don't flatten any of the carpet you've already directed.

Given the number of filthy cars listed on selling sites where the absolute minimum effort has gone into listing it (even from indie dealers!) I'd take some vacuumed lines every single time, at least they put a bit of effort in. I'm from a family that still believes in a thorough clean of the car before an MOT, so not even cleaning it for an advert is borderline criminal!

Mileage or number plate not included would be the other two biggest ones for me.

But if it was just cleaned without running the vacuum in different directions for hours as if mowing a bowling green it would still be clean?

It just shows the seller has gone to further effort that most.
I think it's one of the nicer touches.
