40/50k budget, need 4 seats

I’m looking at options in the 40-50k range , definitely need 4 seats, would only be kids in the back 99% of the time, 5 seats would be better but not a deal breaker.

All I have so far is a low mile 997.2, early 991.1 or jag i-pace as an electric option. Out of those 3 I have only driven the 997.2 and that was a few years ago for about half an hour.
Already have a school run barge so not along those lines

Anything else I should be looking at

As lovely as it is I’d avoid a 911. You can just about squeeze kids in the back but not for long and forget it once they get to teenage years.

BMW F90 M5.....has AWD so can crush most things on the road. They're around 50k now for 2018 models.

BMW F13 M6.....not as fast as the AWD F90 M5 but still stupidly mighty in the performance stakes. Still looks awesome and looks way better than the new 8 series. The interior is still very nice and the tech is still "up to date" and wouldn't feel lacking even in 2021.

You would be absolutely spoiled for choice with the lower end of that budget if you wanted an F80 M3. You can laugh at people in the newer model too.

For a 2+2 a GranTursismo or Rapide are good bets-the GT would be my choice at £40k, the Rapide at £50k.

Assuming your children are the type that grow a 911 is unlikely to satisfy for long. If you like the Porsche brand a 2nd generation Panamera is less ugly than the first and in your price range just, and you could get a plugin hybrid if you fancy.

As a brave option 612 is a realistic proposition-though probably at £55k rather than £50k.

Evora looks to be the same or even smaller in the back than 911’s. 3 Kids are from 12 down to 6 and are all like matchsticks
Didn’t really fancy another M car but it’s been a long time since I drove one , maybe 6-8 years so I’m sure they have moved on a lot and could be worth a look at.

st. Hadn’t realised the f90 was 0-60 in 3.4. Just not sure if it’s special enough to look at for that sort of money. I bet a drive would change that though.

The F13 M6 looks even better than the F90 M5 though, but that's just my opinion. Rear wheel drive and 600bhp is quite scary though and they chew tyres as well.

Pretty sure the Competition Pack is less than £50,000 too.

Since you've got a school run barge, surely the fundamental question is what type of car you want? Super saloon? GT etc? Track day weapon or boulevard cruiser? Do you value looks? engine sound? interior? rarity? What part of the depreciation curve do you want to be?

Otherwise you'll get the type of suggestions you've had so far i.e. ranging from '18 M5 to '90s 456 !!

Aye, I'd posted an E53 a little earlier as did Zx10 above, sensible.

But as ZX10 also posted above, that LC500. I hadn't realised they'd reached that price point. You will absolutely not find a car that 'impactful', to those inside and to those outside, for that price.
