Any advice for buying a 2007 Astra vxr with around 100k mile

I’ve been looking at one and I’m looking for advice on reliability and just the key things to look at before buying a Astra of that age

from what ive heard, gearboxes can be a weak point, i know im my brother corsa vxr he had to have it replaced at 86k, not sure if
its a different box or not and also blue smoke on start up due to turbo seal passing and ive heard people complain about the seats but thats all opinion i suppose, thats what ive found with a quick search

I remember reading that the Astra is a lot better built than the Corsa

Might be best joining a vxr forum for more specific advice but I'd say they're okay and good ones are fetching strong money.

Gearboxes on the Corsas were an issue, not necessarily on the Astra which had a different gearbox (M32)

Agreed about the blue smoke on start up, normally suggests issues
