Which car would you buy around £25K today

Hi all, I've got a Tesla M3 LR which I am selling to buy something cheaper - Covid means I don't use a Tesla enough to justify the savings.
I was looking around £25K +/- £2K and this is the short list I have come up with.
2018 or early 2019 Golf GTI Performance MK7.5 with low miles, leather and sunroof - around £25-26K
2018 BMW 440i (in convertible or GC) - around 20K miles - between £27-30K
2018 Jaguar XE S 380hp - low miles - £28K
Although all cars depreciate, I'm trying to avoid one that drops like a stone. Many Jags and BMWs do but both of the above are slightly rarer versions - especially the Jag.
I've got a Yaris GR on order for July- although not sure if I will go through with it or not - lets see how the economy pans out.
The car list above is more for a daily driver when I am sitting in traffic or need to carry around someone else.
We've got a family car for the wife.
Wondering what you guys, as car enthusiasts, would go for? Having owned the Tesla for a while, I do think there could be a resurgence for having an old school V6s/V8 as a weekend car, when most manufacturers stop producing them.

I'm not a fan of hatchbacks myself, so the Golf would be out.
I like saloons and coupes, and I think you've picked two nice ones there. I have a 2019 440i coupe myself. Nice car. Having been exposed to the B58 engine, the decision on what to replace it with next will be difficult. People have waxed lyrical about it umpteen times already, so I won't repeat it, but suffice to say it's powerful, unusually economical, good soundtrack, tune-able and is proving very reliable. The rest of the car is solidly built, decent quality and feels like a nice enough place to sit. Whilst the iDrive system is very good, the cabin is showing its age a bit compared to the competition, as they were refreshed the following year.
I don't know much about the XE S, other than someone at work has one and it sounds awesome. A bit more more throaty than my 440i (can't get the MPPSK on mine). It's an aggressive looking thing too. Definitely ticks my boxes.

I was fancying a 3-5 year old F32 BMW 420i Coupé M Sport (about £17k) on account of it's adequate performance and great economy. Then another thread on here suggested that a 440i (£25k) is surprisingly economical too. Then, once I've got my head into the £25k space, man maths happens, economy goes out of the window and I'd go straight for a Maserati Granturismo in black with cream leather, like this one.
Thanks people - the BMW 40i engine seems to be universally popular, I haven't heard anyone really complain about it.
The last tiime I bought a BMW from a dealer, I managed to knock off more than £1K. With the used 440i convertibles (a convertible mostly to entertain the kids) I was looking at, no dealer was willing to knock off more than £250 or thereabouts - and they seem to be selling around £27-30K for a 2018 one with low miles and decent options.
The Golf dealers are the same - max £200-300 off.
The XE V6 S is a 380hp limited run model - only something like 300 of this 380hp version and 700 of the older 340hp one were produced - the 380hp one is a F Type S engine. The problem is hardly anyone knows, or cares, except for people who have heard one (as mentioned above).
In the big scheme of things, as much as I like a GTI - I'm just struggling with paying around the same money for one compared to the BMW or Jag.

Hah, I have that on my Autotrader search list. I got scared off when I read how many people have spent £10K on a service visit on a 5-10 year old Maserati.InitialDave said:

Yeah that's a fair point. With two kids (car seats), a lot of traffic around London, and the occassional client (will this happen post Covid?) sitting in the car I just wonder whether it can truly be a good daily driver for my needs. Also my mother in law borrows my car sometimes, not sure if is she could handle in a manual Yaris GR! hrp123 said:

It's still just as easy to drive as any other Yaris, so I can't see it being an issue. Just seems like an unnecessary expense to buy another car.
Unless this is a man maths exercise, in which case buy what you like and think up a rationalisation for it later.

You ask good questions. What I'm wondering to myself is whether the Yaris GR is a man maths exercise! Any new car depreciates a little heavier % wise than a used car - even the Yaris GR probably will - so I can't say there is a financial argument for a Yaris GR over a slightly cheaper used car like above. It's an emotional one for me.Just seems like an unnecessary expense to buy another car.

I haven't driven the Yaris GR myself but I imagine the back seats may not be the most comfortable for passengers (aka whining kids) on longer journeys. Plus as I mention, if my MIL borrows it, the manual shift and torque for a 70 year old who has been used to driving an automatic may prove problematic.
Maybe the question really is a Yaris GR vs a Golf GTI PP vs a 440i vs a XE S V6!

I don't think we'll ever see the like of it again, a family estate with a large capacity V8. Daily driving might be tough if your mileage increases, but I can't see it depreciating much more.

Yes it has a 5 year manufacturers warranty (to December '21) and had 37,000 miles.Bought through Sytner Select.
PS. late '16 onwards have the modern touch screen centre panel-worth having.
