Interested in a s3 8p as a daily run around. Roughly 8k miles per year. Would you go for a manual with 100k or dsg with 120k?

I have driven an 8P S3 for last few years mileage now just hit 90k. It's a manual and IMO a really nice drive although engine note is never going to get you too excited (still a four pot). In a manual you won't get launch control that DSG gets you. I found the gear shift a little loose originally but got some gear linkage bushing to eliminate any slack and shift is very nice and precise now.

Probably worth asking this or seeing if someone else with direct experience of both on Audisport can offer up an opinion as I've only driven the later 8V in DSG. There's an 8P forum there

I had manual 8P 2.0T quattros and an S3 S-Tronic. The S3 is a great package, if looked after.

I liked both, though when new-ish the DSG was a great 'box and I'd have tended towards that. But at 10+ years old I'd go with whichever car is the better on close inspection.
