X3 vs XC60 vs ?

The old man (he’s here somewhere!) is looking to replace a leggy (nearly 200k!) L322 Rangie that has served the family well for years. Looking to downside slightly for the narrow roads of Cornwall but still has to be diesel, auto and comfy for regular longer trips up country.

1) Options being looked at are the X3, the XC60 and long shot of a Freelander, are we missing anything?

2) Having said the above, I think the choice of the X3 is pretty much made (I prefer the XC60 and the Freelander is a bit long in the tooth) so is there anything to look out for?

Budget is about 10/11k.

Also, why are all BMW X3’s the dullest of all dull silvers?

Infiniti QX50 if you don't mind haggling & maybe stretching the budget you'll get well built reliable SUV great spec 360 camera's adaptive cruise etc with Nissan running costs.

That's before you take into account the one below has only done 37k, as well as running costs that are more sensible than the X3/XC60

Another L322 I believe, few years younger, better interior and a lot less miles.

I should have known from the start and just told him to do it instead of faffing around with other cars!
