Help re wiggle room on 3 year old Auc BMWs

Unfortunately at the moment it is very much a sellers market. I bought an i8 in April and apart from them agreeing to my trade in figure on my M4, they also agreed on the price I wanted to pay and they did the big £1200 service on it. They had however had the car on the forecourt since January so there was wiggle room there.

My only advice would be to shop around, have a look at somewhere like tesla-info.com which will tell you hen the car was listed for sale, that might help you get a little something. As for the extended warranty, I believe that BMW were doing a 2 year warranty on AUC in December and someone else mentioned that although they have got a 2 year warranty from a dealership at another time, it wasn’t the BMW AUC one and instead was a ‘dealer equivalent’.

I didn't use their finance, choosing a personal loan instead.

I got £500 off the sticker price. Less than 2%. That's literally all they would budge on and believe me, I tried.

There are now less cars on the market, stock is impossible to come by in general and some used cars are going up in value.

I think you'd be hard pushed to do better than I did, unless the dealer has had it in stock for a while and is struggling to get rid. You'd then have to ask yourself why he's struggling to get rid.....

You are going from buying a new car you "can't afford" because you financed it to a used car you also "can't afford" because you need to finance it. That really doesn't make any sense.

Just because the OP needs to finance it doesn't mean he can't afford it. Not that many people have a spare £24k ready to spend on a car so most of them either finance it or lease it. As long as the monthly payment is within the household budget, why the judgment? I personally hate credit and finance and I'm lucky enough to be able to buy nice cars outright. But there are many cars I can't afford out of pocket and thus don't buy. Not everyone is as credit-averse as I am and they probably have better credit ratings than I do as a result.

What age is the 330D (and/or does it have the BluePerformance package), even my 2015 320D (N47 engine) is Euro6.

Did you use the TFL check (which was originally wrong, but has now been corrected), or the HPI check?

Much the same when I got mine.

When I picked up my X5 in August I got NOTHING off.

Really is a sellers market at the moment

If you buy from a main dealer you'll get a years warranty on any of their used cars.

You can buy Manufacturer Approved Warranties on most older cars (there are age/mileage stipulations that vary from each Manufacturer) they'll normally have to have an inspection before the warranty is approved.

So this 340i could have an Approved Warranty added to it.

Echo what others are saying. I bought an f10 M5 approved used a month ago. Didn’t get a penny off the sticker price, but did get an extra year comprehensive warranty (to bring it to 2).

Three months ago I got £1500 off the sticker price of a five year old approved BMW 528i.

WBAC are now offering me what I paid for it. I very much doubt you will get any downward movement from the dealer at the current time from the sticker price.

You could always haggle a little bit of an AUC car, we got £500 off an £18.5k one in September last year but with the used supply being limited, I doubt there is much haggle room to be had at the moment.

You are probably better off paying list but trying to negotiate other things into the deal.

I just bought a 430D and it became obvious fairly quickly I wasn't getting money off but as the major service is due in 5 months, they agreed to do this and a brake fluid change. Probably about £400-£450 worth of work anyway at cost to the customer.

Sometimes you can negotiate a second years warranty on an AUC as they are usually around £700 for the year so something to consider.

Used cars with a decent spec seem to be flying out the door at the moment, every one I called up about had been reserved or sold already so I was lucky to see mine soon after it had been listed.
