Audi A1 Black Edition vs Ford Focus ST Line X

I should start by saying I know nothing about cars. The only reason I have finalised the top two cars is because of size and colour ways available (yes that is how I choose my cars!).

I need some help choosing which one to go for. I like the shape of the focus compared to the Audi, but I think the 1.5 litre engine may be a bit too powerful for me!

Any thoughts on which one is best and why please?

You know they're different sizes?

The Focus will be as fast as your right foot makes it.

You don't say what engine is in the A1.

Go for the ST Line X they're a nice car & it'll serve you well for years to come.

Thanks for replying. The Ford Focus is slightly bigger (I think) than the A1 but they’re in the same class size I’m looking for . I know the focus has a bigger boot.

The Audi is a 1.0 engine (petrol). The focus is more expensive than the A1. Would I be paying for the badge with the Audi or are they generally better cars?

The A3 & Focus are the same size of car, whereas the A1 is Fiesta sized.

It depends what you want from your car, as I said the Focus would get my vote if you want to bring the cost down go for a Fiesta in ST Line X trim.

If your happy with the A1's size then the Fiesta is very good choice.

They aren’t the same class size. The A1 is the same class as the fiesta. The A3 is the same class as the focus.

OP, you're definitely paying for the badge with the A1.

My parents have had 2 Fiestas as their only car over the last 5 years and they have been great.

I don’t know what your budget is but we’ve just replaced my Boxster with a nearly new Fiesta ST Line X and its brilliant. It’s the 155bhp mild hybrid version, fantastic little engine and loaded with the toys people expect nowadays. It was bought mainly as a local runabout to save my wife’s Focus ST3 for longer trips but I’ll have no hesitation using it for long journeys.
