Long story short, ordered my wife a new car last year, due Xmas(2020). It's only just been built and it won't be handed over until some time in late July earliest. Is it really going to make much of a difference-it's a 45k VAG car. Common sense says it's a few hundred quid between 21 and 71. I just thought seeing as we have waited so long we may as well have a 71 plate, assuming the dealer doesn't make a huge fuss.

I'd wait if the dealer is ok with it.

I'm sure they'll ask for full payment when the car's available though, might be a problem if you're financing it.

Also depends on how the dealer is for space.

I've waited a few times, and it's better when you come to sell, for the sake of a month.
