My Sis needs a new car and would like a medium sized SUV type thing. I don’t know much about that market segment so any suggestions on what might fit the criteria-
Automatic
Petrol or hybrid
Budget up to £15000
Ideally no more than 5 years old

Think you'd struggle to find an NX <5yrs old without galactic miles or catN on for <£15k... >£22k seems about the market for those.

If I was in the market I'd be looking straight towards a 2016/17 Volvo XC60, although not many petrol ones about.

Theyre a massive step above your Kia sportage/Ford Kuga/Nissan Quashqai. (Nothing wrong with these but they're the interiors are a bit budget) when compared to the volvo. They're well nailed together and safe too.

Lexus CT200h is the one that fits the requirement. Great value things.

I agree its probably perfectly fit for purpose.

Not a medium sized SUV though, which is what the OPS sister wants. If it was me (and its not so feel free to shoot me down) I wouldn't ever get an SUV type car unless I lived up a farm track out in the country and regularly needed to tow or go across muddy fields and i would discourage the rise of the SUV.

Unfortunately it's what people want at present so apparently I'm in the minority.

this ^^^ Sister just bought a 2 y/o one and while it's not my cup of tea it does seem very impressive for the money. The only issue I can see is that I'm not sure they do an auto?

Agreed a Lexus or Volvo XC60 would fit the bill but she’s going to have to up here budget a fair bit to buy either.
We’ve discounted the Nissan Qashqai but what about one of the many Hyundai SUV’s, worth a look?

A Kia Niro? Hybrid auto, not sure if they’re 4wd but they look half decent, 7 year warranty too if it’s the same across the whole Kia range.

The simple answer is the Ford Kuga in Titanium X 180 Spec:

Titanium X Sport

There are others CX-5 etc but their N/A engines mean they have to be worked harder & they drink more fuel.
