Hi All

I'm looking for opinions...

I currently have a BMW 640i GC on PCP due to end in a few months - love the car and intention is to buy it out at the end of the agreement (would have bought however 0% PCP + stonking discount on new car to my spec was a no brainer). WBAC value c.£27k

My wife has a 2017 x3 30d which is owned outright, she loves it, needs wheels refurbed and a few touch ins here and there, but generally straight and in great condition. WBAC value c.£23k

So here is the conundrum... stick with what we have or change?

If we change, my wifes car needs to be at least the same size as the x3, reliable, ideally a SUV, space for car seats and kiddie stuff and it needs at least the same level of performance as the x3, it needs to be a petrol, potentially a hybrid. It is used daily, mix of short and long trips c.8k miles p.a. Should really be an auto.

My car needs to be reliable, min 6 cylinders, petrol, comfortable, ideally can fit car seats into, age irrelevant, no convertibles, open to SUV's needs to have fit / finish similar to the 640i. It will be used few times a week, once working returns to normal, 2-3 250ish miles round trips to office / airports per month. Auto or manual.

Wild card - open to 3rd car which will be a toy and something i'd want to learn to maintain myself to an extent... will have to be fun, easy enough to work on, petrol and no convertibles. I would not want to spend too much on this. i6 + manual +RWD would be a plus.

I don't mind putting addition money in (up to £10k-£15k in addition to WBAC values on the current fleet).

I can change one or both cars, but equally happy to stick with what we have as they just do everything we need.

The Mrs would love a FFRR or RR Sport, however the reliability piece scares me. Mrs will not have an Audi as she hated her previous A4, but loves the x3 and also liked her prior 2 series.

I'm not too fussed, although last 15+ yrs I've had BMW's... open to trying something else. I like the idea of something discreet and potent... would be great if it a little depreciation proof.

Ideas??
