Hi, I’m new here so excuse my naivety, I am sadly having to let my 1986 300Se go, I’ve had it for 35 years, anyway I’m thinking of getting a 2011 Lexus IS 250 , given that it’s been 35 years since I last bought a car, is the IS Lexus a good car, or is there a better 10 year old Lexus, I’m pretty open minded as to the model
Thanks
Mike

I loved my 250. Get an SE-L or Advance spec if you can.

The IS250 is a good car look for an Advace/F Sport BUT also lookout for the GS250 as it's a bit more spacious (the IS250 is compact) & that may be just the ticket:

What's your budget?

My parents have had a 2005-6 IS250 for years now and it's been very reliable. It's a SEL and has radar cruise and heated and cooled front seats and I've driven it for airport runs and it's a just a very smooth competent drive, enough power and no negative traits I can think of.

If you are planning on keeping the car for a long time, I'd be tempted to get a year or two newer hybrid IS300h, you'd get the newer model of the car plus a more modern powertrain to be future proof.

Still rock solid reliability, same technology as millions of Prius minicabs.
