Hi all

I am looking for some advice. I have a 60-70k budget to purchase a weekend car.

I want somthing that i can get my kids and wife into so we can all enjoy it. I have been thinking about getting ann Aston Martin Rapide S for some time now but having seen the porsche panera petrol hybrid i’m now torn

I currently have a range rover sport SVR that we use as a daily driver.

Aston martin looks fantadtic and the porsche gives excellent specs for the same money

Any advice welcome

“Excellent specs” will be around in the future. Naturally aspirated V12 Aston Martins? Perhaps not so easy to do in 10/15/whatever years time…

As a current owner of a Panny hybrid, I have to agree with the above. Came from a Panny Turbo, and am missing the oomph. Its a very civilised place to be but not an exciting one.

If the Rapide fits, both from a space, and a budget/risk perspective, go for it. You can get into a Taycan later biggrin

I have had a Panamara Turbo, Brilliant car for day to day use. Fast, comfortable, reliable. Did 20k per year in it for 3 years. I have an Aston Martin for occasional use, also Brilliant cars.

If its for the occasional use, 100% Aston Martin for me.

You guys are right though the aston martin may not have the specs of the panemera it does have the looks and sound of the v12 engine.

Eyes open though - compare and contrast the Porsche warranty with the Aston one. There is a BIG difference in cost.

Extended warranty for the Aston is around £2k. Not sure what the Porsche would be.

In the overall scheme of things, it is worth paying. If Porsche is half the price, it would only amount to another £5k over 5 years.

That falls into the reasonable bracket (and yes, its about double the Porsche one). Am fairly sure when I looked, it was around £4k p/a (granted, I was obviously looking at an older one) and that tipped me to the Panamera biggrin

You already have a large fast AWD daily-why get another large AWD which is uglier and slower?

Uglier than a Rangerover SVR? I didn't think that was possible!

I guess ugliness is in the eye of the beholder laugh neither the Panamera or RRS SVR are exactly design classics!

Go for the Rapide it's the better more special car out of the two listed.
