Looking at a new car, and trying to work out a way of getting the monthly costs down.

So wasn't going to trade in my current car (no finance, legally own it), as I think one of my parents wanted to buy it (they are still debating it between them). So I haven't mentioned a trade in to the dealer just a cash deposit. In short without rambling, if I turned round and said to the dealer, I'd like to trade my car in as part of the deposit. For simple math we will say its £10k that the dealer values it at. I then say want to keep 7k of that as cash, and use the remaining 3k towards my deposit on the new car

Is that possible? Or is it just going to be dependent on the dealership?

I've done that before.

They literally did a bank transfer.

Do try webuyanycar and the likes as I've used them before and got more than the dealers were offering and it was hassle free (be honest about the car before you turn up).
