I found a car online (not via PH) that an independent trader is selling. At first the trader was open to my questions such as placing a reservation. The trader has stopped answering my questions. There is a warning light on the dash in the presentation video. The trader said that this was there as the fuel was in reserve but in the video the fuel is at 1/4 tank. Having owned and driven Mercedes for some years, I am dead certain that a check control light does not remain on if the fuel has hit reserve and then been filled. I smell BS but I really like the car.

Is there anything else I can do bar making the 3 hour trip to visit the car?
I was thinking of giving the trader until the end of the week to respond.

You're right. Going to pass on this one. Was inspired by the n/a thread and always wanted to own a C43 (W202). Case closed

I’ve recently enquired about a couple of cars and they not got back to me. If they act like that before you buy the car imagine if you had a problem would be a nightmare.

Move on and if they get back to you just way too late

Yeh I know another pointless thread. Guess I wanted it that bad but will keep looking. Will scan the PH ads.

If he's stopped answering your questions then he clearly doesn't want to sell it to you.

What can you do? Well, find another one elsewhere... Ideally without any warning lights on...

As above, it’s because he knows you won’t like the answer. He’d rather sell it to someone who doesn’t notice/care. Far less trouble.

No these grand gestures never work, you need it to be more personal.
