How long is a piece of string. Really it's anyone's guess, lots of factors at play, but ultimately once new car production is back to pre covid levels that should in theory ease the price of used vehicles.
That is not going to happen overnight and most commentators are of the opinion its going to last well into 2022, however they also note there is a limit to what anyone will pay for a normal used vehicle and with prices already up 20% in the last few months its whether they can continue to rise or have just about peaked, I think if your looking to sell now and you are happy with the price go for it, prices are very unlikely to climb by much more after the gains already seen, its silly season so cash in.
If you look on AT there are some really high asking prices that are just not selling, the vehicles a bit more realistic are being moved on, but with winter ahead it's likely the market will cool down.
