The influence of leaving a review.

Wifey wanted a replacement for her shed Micra (nothing exciting, just less of a shed)
I found a car at a dealer not far away,when we went for a look I read the info sheet in the window and it said it had a 'category' of some sort recorded against it so we passed. In my haste I had not read the original advert properly.
She kept looking and pointed to a car and said 'oh that is a nice colour, let's look at that' when she started it and the digital screen lit up she was sold.
It has proven to be a decent enough car. 2007 Yaris.
I am a right one for leaving reviews and left the garage a positive as he was decent to deal with. In the review I mentioned going to look at a car with some sort of category against it.
Few weeks later a letter arrives with a voucher for £50 asking us to change the review as they were getting lots of enquiries about what cars they were selling that had 'category' markers against them.
Made me smile.

In early 2020, i bought a caravan from a manufacture that then went bust - taking my warranty with it. Not long after picking it up, it developed a major fault that i expected the dealer to deal with, as it was raised before the manufacturer went bust and my contract was with that dealer.
Aftersales team strung me along with lies and then invited me to take them to court
So after a little while I left the worst possible review you could imagine, completely accurate and scathing.
Got a phone call the next day from the owner who arranged to get the caravan in and then sorted all the issues - no fuss. He genuinely had no idea what had gone on, didn't really even dangle the work as a carrot to get me to remove the review.
Subsequently bought another new one off them.
