Dealer experience…. Grrrrrr.
Discussion
Just venting here!!
I fancied a changed from the German execs I’ve had for the last 18 years.
I thought Lexus would be a great option. 10 days of trying to arrange a simple test drive through 3 different Lexus main dealers got me precisely nowhere. They don’t seem interested in potential new customers. I now realise exactly why Lexus have such a small market share in this country.
I collect my latest BMW next week.
But, seriously, how can a main dealer be so lax about not getting new customers??

BMW similar atm. Partner is interested in a 530e
Spoke to local dealer explained we have a G31 on the driver albeit s 520d and would be keen to try the hybrid drive train not fussy in what as we already know we’re happy with everything else on the car
Their response……. Offer us a 320d for a test drive

Brother in law had the same issue with Lexus (3 years ago). Really wanted a LC500 but they couldn't arrange a test drive for him, kept making false promises and after wasting 3 weeks, he went and got an M5 comp which at the time was the first one the dealer got and was meant to be their demo.
To be fair, you see BMWs littering every McDonald's Drive-Thru these days but I've yet to see a Lexus in a similar environ. I've yet to see a Lexus driven by an apprentice nail technician from Armadale or Coatbridge. For all that it might be tricky to pin down a Lexus, there is a small number of people who do manage somehow without diluting the image of the brand.

I’m just amazed by the “can’t be bothered” attitude from main dealers. I thought these guys were on commission!!
They must be doing very well if they don’t need new customers.
They don’t have anything to sell, so no income coming in, so their job is the next cost-saving.They must be doing very well if they don’t need new customers.
