I'm thinking that I may be best having two cars. One as a daily and the other a weekend / day out / trip away car.

My only criteria is that both cars need to be ulez compliant and the weekend car has to be AWD or RWD. I'd prefer something turbocharged or supercharged and prefer a manual.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have a £32K two car garage.
A 2013 Lexus RX450h hybrid for family duties. I know that’s ULEZ compliant.
A 2000 Porsche 996 C4 for fun. I don’t know if due to age if that gets round ULEZ.

The set up works great for me

Day to day ULEZ is simple:

Infiniti M 30d GT

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124857086344?hash=item1...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107145...

EX 30d

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108246...

Weekend Toy:

Lotus Evora with haggling on both the daily & weekend toy you should be able to get close to 30k, you'll also have two cars that are great at their duties but far enough apart for you to appreciate both:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107094...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334085448484?hash=item4...

370Z Nismo cracking drivers car & it'll make a great weekend companion, I think a Gen1 which is a bit more raw may be more suited to your needs:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109036...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109016...

Gen2

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202106173...

Also keep an eye out for the Corvette C6 they're a very good car & a bit special 24-26k will get you a nice one.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102189...

Mustang good base & with a great aftermarket to make it your own (I'd take the C6 if LHD isn't an issue)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284445972037?hash=item4...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165042901559?hash=item2...

928 a classic but still a very good steer & a great candidate for a weekend toy

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107205...

968

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105283...

Clubsport great drivers car

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108266...

3.6 997 Carrera a very good base point with some suspension work they become a great steer (adding a K&N replacement filter really changes the engines throttle response & it's a cheap mod) I'd be tempted to go for one with some miles on it in order to avoid potential borkage.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202107195...

M4 I know you had one for a week so it's a known quantity:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109147...

TVR wise I'd be looking at the Tamora:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224604731410?hash=item3...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109147...

4.0

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184991008072?hash=item2...

Out of the above weekend car wise it would be the:

Evora
C6 Corvette
370Z Nismo
Mustang/Tamora

Depends how you want to bias the spending. Do you want to spend more on the daily or the weekend car? Or split evenly?

Lots of fat heavy cars there ZX10, a few light choices would make more of a weekend car.

I must like fat and heavy cars then...seeing as I have both the M4 and 370Z! hehe

I completely get what you are saying though for sure. thumbup I think something like a Lotus Elise/VX220 Turbo or Caterham would make an awesome weekend car. driving

Heavy? 928/968 1450kgs Corvette/997 1400kgs with the Tamora/Evora lighter still.

So in terms of heavy cars there were only a few but all are good steers.

Yep, rather chunky. An Elise or Caterham would be much more fun.

It depends what you want to be fair.

I'd love a VX220 or Elise but only want to use it for a spirited drive or track day rather than as a weekend car I'd use to go to see friends or to events as I'd find them more basic than I'd want.

I've been a BMW fan for years now and currently have a Z4M Coupe for weekends and an E90 330i daily.

I'm not sure which car the OP wanted to have forced induction, but if it's the daily a 335i or M135i might fit the bill.

But there are loads of other choices so I just hope he finds a pairing that suits him. thumbup

Although I'll miss reading about his M5 exploits!

If you want proper lightweight fun then forget those lead weighted VX220/Elise/Caterhams & do it properly:

MV F3 800 RC

My (slightly over budget) combination is a VW Up Gti as a daily, and a 1.6 Elise s3 as a weekend/fun car.

I know it’s confirmatory bias, but I’d struggle to find better, especially as the Up was bought pre used car rise and is now worth 3k more than I bought it for (null point as I’m keeping it).
