Cheapest HPI check?

Anyone know of a website with the cheapest hpi check?

The value in the check is the guarantee as well as the number of sources of data.

So you do a cheapo check on a £20k car, it goes through OK.

Then you find out there was some missing/bad/corrected data and your car was actually a write off/financed/etc.

Not a problem, claim on the guarantee. Oh hang on, the cheapo cover only covers £5k…………

Even if it’s a old banger for a few £k (or less), a proper check is still only £10/£20 so false economy either way doing it on the cheap….

I’ve bought 5k cars without doing one before. Never really felt the need but my friend is paranoid about buying cars but wants the cheapest!

Agreed. I would just be as concerned to find out if a car has been salvage, and the insurance companies haven't bothered to record it properly.

I bought one off ebay. Bloke does proper hpi (ie commercial rates they get charged much cheaper than public) and sends you a screen shot

Vcheck for me also. Helped me walk away a few times from a potential purchase.

the thing is cheap one isn't a guarentee and in effect worthless. Just pay for a decent one with a plate and vin check and you are covered against any issues.
