the cla is nice, however

the only pros (for me at least)

- looks good / premium
- 45/50mpg on a nice run

that's it. when i had the 240 changed back to stock the garage said "i give it 12 months before your'e back in something fast / loud")

no no, i'm done, ill be saving 300 at least per month

i'm 2 months in and bored to hell

Apologies, didn't realise you were on £25000 budget.
You can get a VXR8 around that price also VX 220 which seem to be rising in price. Z-Let engines are not too expensive to maintain in the VX220Turbo and usually are upgraded to around 225BHP which the engine ran as standard in the Lotus Europa.

Isn't the Noble a Ford engine so maybe not too expensive ?

How about an Evora for around that price /

What interests you about the Noble/Lotus etc? These are obviously focused cars, much like the M2 or M2C.

For me, the M240i is a nice daily steer, but a bit of a straight line hero. I had an M235i and a mate had a 440bhp M140i and both never lasted long (coming from Megane RS250's etc).

The M2 would be a brilliant upgrade. Looks way better, will hold better value and an all round brilliant package. Consumables would be more, but day to day running maybe not so much.

If the performance is wasted on you, then I would stick with what you have. Just about everything mentioned would be a huge increase in running costs I would imagine.
