I am looking at getting my first car, however, I am slightly confused about how to enter my details for getting an accurate car insurance quote.

I have regularly driven motorcycles on a full license for the past 8 years (with 8 years NCB), however, I have only had my car license for 2 years. When I am getting quotes from the likes of Confused dot com, should I be entering 8 years that I have held my license? or should it be only based on the 2 years for car? it might sound like a silly question, but I am wondering if they will even know the difference - or if I even need to put 2 years down instead of 8

Any tips from follw bike-to-car members on what to do to get the best quote?

Cheers

You have held your car licence for 2 years so should be using that.

At a different part of the process you may be asked about other vehicles you use and as a follow up question any no claims etc in relation to that vehicle. Certainly the case on Confused.

For some years now when I am getting quotes I always get asked if I have the use of another vehicle so that would be the time to mention the bike - probably easier by phone than on comparison sites!
