What cars have this feature? I leave for work very early and leave work very late and it would be nice during the winter to get into a slightly warm interior, maybe with the bum warmers or steering wheel warm.

Current diesel takes an absolute age to get up to temperature and I’m getting older now and hate the cold!

Car would be parked on my driveway in the morning and in a company owned secured car park in the evening, though I know most cars remained locked and disabled if remotely started.

The Mrs new PHEV X3 has this.

Think it has to be plugged in on charge to allow this. Obviously the fact it's hooked up to the mains makes such a function simple. I imagine this is standard on most hybrids and electric cars.

Someone I used to work with had a 2019 Jag XE that did this from the phone app

Had it on a V90. Probably my favourite part of the car (when it worked).

Both of our petrol 2020 Volvo V60 and 2021 MINI have apps with remote heat start. Though both also have heated seats and heated steering wheels…the mini heats up super quick compared to the Volvo.

Mine had heated seats and they took forever. My 15-year old Saab and my 10-year old Z4 will be cooking you within about 2 minutes - not sure why Volvo couldn't get this right. Heated wheel was nice on the V60 courtesy car I had.

I have it on my PHEV Audi A3 e-tron, been really handly recently. VW Golf GTE, Audi A3 TFSIe, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia PHEVs will also have it. I imagine most PHEVs and EVs will have these features.

Our 2020 Volvo V60 Cross Country has remote start. It also turns on the heated steering wheel and heated seats if its below 10 degrees when you start it up. It stays locked and imobilised. You can set how long you want it to run for.

All done via phone app.

It sounds to me that you just need a car with heated seats & maybe a heated steering wheel. In which case there are a wealth of options so it'll just depend on how much you want to spend.

My dad's diesel F-Pace had this feature. It worked remotely from an app.

Can you get electric near your drive as the best way would be to fit a coolant pre heater to your current car just have to mess around plugging in in each night

PHEV is actually my first choice but there are quite a few that don’t have a remote start or app controlled feature.

Definitely legal in the uk as my dad has it on his XF. Not keen on JLR though unless well warrantied.

I read this week, it will soon be illegal to leave your car 'Ticking Over' to warm/clear your windscreen of ice!
Off the back of cars left running outside of Schools and choking the kids.
That's put the block on this thread.

Not going to happen, may be passed in law but not in reality

How will you de-mist?

All very well saying use a cloth but often that just makes it dirty and the condensation comes back!

But it will stop Manufacturers offering the feature.
