Can you compare these 4x4's ?
Discussion
Interested what people think ...these are quite different I know but for around £6k you could buy these 4x4's
2010 Volvo XC60 diesel 100k+ miles
2011 Honda CRV Diesel 80k+ miles
2015 Dacia Duster Diesel or Petrol 60k+ miles
All reasonable tax, mpg
Are they all about the same in terms of reliability, maintenance
Thanks again the the experts and knowledgable !

There are three others I'd be looking at & they're the Ford Kuga:
Ford Kuga Titanium 160

Infiniti EX GT Premium loaded with spec fit & finish a smidge better than the Volvo reliable drivetrain & they're ULEZ/CAZ compliant but they're hard to find:

Grand Cherokee Overland

Duster is newest and a diesel should be the cheapest to run, might even nudge 50mpg
CRV should be reliable, 2.2 cdti is pretty frugal and camchain so no belt to worry about, should see low 40's mpg
XC60 is a world more refined and powerful, parts are expensive and from experience you can expect low 30's mpg
Take your pick but I'd avoid the XC60 unless you do very few miles and have a slush fund when it breaks

The CRV will probably out live you and your children.
They aren't quite as solid as people think. Ok, it's the previous gen, but my Dad has a 2005 2.2 CTDI at 100,000 miles or so and it's pretty ropey now, the clutch and flywheel judder like crazy, so probably need replacing, last year it needed major suspension components rebuilding, the air conditioning no longer works and will be an absolute pain in the neck to diagnose where it has failed. Some older ones also have issues with rust. It's just getting a bit too expensive and annoying to keep going, so I think he'll ditch it when the weather gets a bit warmer. Got to be the Duster. Its the Gentleman's Chariot.
The rest are too old. Ticking time bombs
Dusters are the future.
