2006, 1.6 T3, 5dr, facelift model, 98k miles, 12months mot ( 2 v minor advisories ), good history, been told zero rust anywhere and been looked after.. he wants £2k

2004 T sport 3dr, 190hp ( 2zz - whatever that was) Pre face lift, 108k, full 12 months MOT, good history, no rust, he wants £1800

Buy on condition alone at that age.

Two very different car's or to be precise engines! I'd take the T3 over the T-sport...or rather I'd go to see the T3 first and spend as much time as is necessary to check the underside thoroughly.

2zz refers to the 1.8VVTL-i engine in the T-sport. I used to have these on occasion as company cars back in the day when they were new - stupidly low geared means motorway journeys are noisy, unrefined and not very economic.

I'd wager the normal 1.6 will live up to the reliability associated with the brand, not so much the 1.8rolleyes

Cheers,

Chris

Seconded. I bought a 2005 1.6 auto a couple of years ago as a commuting car and it was faultless and surprisingly refined on the motorway.

If it's good, snap it up at £2k.

I bought one for £575 at the start of the year. It's got 150,000 miles on and drives beautifully. After having new cars for the past 15 years it's a nice change.

They are both completely different cars.

I had a 2005 T Sport and loved it. It is very marmite though. You either love it or hate it. 100% need to learn how to drive it and keep it in lift to get the most out of it. One good thing is that most people have no idea what it is or how fast it is so you won't get everyone trying to race you. Then if you want to play traffic light Grand Prix it is capable of doing so.

If I were you look at the condition of them and make sure the T sport has a load of receipts otherwise you could be buying a lemon.
