Only you can decide if you're not happy just speak to the dealer it's not a big issue you'll either accept it or you won't.
I'm not happy with them, and I'll be changing them. But I really want an opinion on whether I should push the dealer to pay for them.
No response from them as yet.

If you're not happy you already know the answer. But I really want an opinion on whether I should push the dealer to pay for them.

All you can do is query it with the dealer. I bought a Volvo approved V40 and noticed a tyre down to the wear marker when I got it home. Still perfectly legal, but I thought I would check it met their approved vehicle standards. I was told it was borderline, but they swapped it anyway. It costs nothing to ask.

What I really need to know is whether it should have passed the "Used approved" checks they do.
Call them that way that can't ignore you.No response as yet.
But all I want an opinion on is whether they should have passed their checks.
Any technicians on here that do any "approved used" inspections?

I had cracks like that on my tyres. Was told by two fast fit tyre places they were superficial, due to UV ageing. No response as yet.

Don’t know what SEAT are like, but VW would tell you to take a flying hike for sure.
Most dealers are extremely crap with this kind of thing. Especially of popular German brands. Anyone remember the ad from a Mercedes dealership where they had pictures of one of their cars for sale with a flat front tyre?!
It'll be like getting blood out of a stone. The best way to get a result from them will be to go in the dealership guns blazing and kick up a total stink and make a huge scene.

What is the date code on the tyre? Four digits somewhere on the sidewall.
Thanks for all the replies everyone, not really that bothered if they pay or not, happy to put it down to my fussyness if they wont. But I was just wondering if they really should have picked on the cracking on the inspection.
The date stamp is 3516 which is week 35 of 2016
That's nice because it helped confirm the low mileage of 14,000 miles on the car, it's still wearing all of it's original tyres.
And in a way I'm pleased that I'll be fitting quality tyres rather than them probably fitting budget ones which I'd have changed anyway.

Will it pass mot? Yes
Would dealers replace as part of prep for sale? Almost certainly not.
Are they safe? I reckon so
Would I replace them with my favourite tyres (michelin)? Yes I would.
Pretty much this, although a strict MOT tester might mark up the tyres as an advisory for the cracking.Would dealers replace as part of prep for sale? Almost certainly not.
