We are looking to find ourselves a second car for around £5K.

It’ll only do about 5000-7000 miles each year.

I love minis but can’t help but feel there’s perhaps more reliable options out there for our budget.

Ideally a hatchback. 3 doors fine, 5 doors ideal.

Would anyone recommend alternatives to a mini that I should consider?

Finally - VW Up! - You can only afford the 1.0 litre non-turbo model, so might be a bit slow. Cheap to run though
