Honda Legend

Having looked at far too many car choices over the weekend I’ve decided upon a Honda Legend. Does any fellow members currently own one, or have owned one? I’ve found a few that have Full Honda Service History. I know the tax is a little ridiculous at £600. It is what it is. I’ve had a few Lexus and fancy something unusual and hopefully very reliable.

I'm assuming you'll be spending similar to your budget on the other thread?

If so those Legend are a very good car AWD nice ride & a creamy V6.

The last rime I looked there was almost nothing available and prices had shot up.

Good luck, I think they great understated cars.

Yes I will be spending arounf that. I have noticed a few around £5-6k which look very good.

That one does look very good. The MOT History looks very good.

I nearly bought one a few years ago, they’re great cars - apparently with the 4WD systems they can get some decent track times.

What put me off was the 17mpg around town unfortunately

I wonder if it would be worth testing an LS430 back to back with Legend to see what feels most special. A 55 plate LS430 might be the sweetspot for Japanese barging.

I had a rare (as in UK sales flop) Accord coupe 3.0v6 some years ago and whilst it was a lovely car the MPG was abysmal. Also all parts seemed to be Honda OEM only. I would be similarly worried about a Legend. At £4k these Legends were getting interesting as a bit of a brave pill pre pandemic, but at over £6k and with the prospect of being very hard to move on I would be a little reluctant personally.

That said if you go for it I will look forward to an owners report!

I know what your saying. I don’t think they would be that hard to move on as I would probably part exchange it. They are quite rare and I think it’s one of those cars that should be experienced as it’s the last great Honda engine. I’m going to get it serviced by a main dealer to keep up with the previous history. Hopefully it’s not going to be too bad. I just don’t think other than a Lexus there is much available for the price and the overall reliability.

Earlier this year the Legend was on my radar, along with a Citroen C6, Lexus GS and Volvo S80.

I want a good NVH/Ride for longer journey so the Legend got dropped because the calculated journey prices would annoy me, I’ve already got a fuel loving v6 Alfa, which I use for short journeys.

I ended up going for a Korean barge. Got a “small” Diesel engine so no v6 but ride and comfort is up there and can get a younger car with a bit more tech for the same money as the regulars. Heated and cooled seats 👍🏽 and lots of sensor to help with navigating into parking slots.

I got a Kia Optima 1.7 3 crdi. If budget allowed I would have got the Stinger.

Wait till April then it will be £630, seems the cars on the higher scale are getting bigger jumps each year. Used to be a £5 or £10 pound increase.

Although compared to fuel it’s peanuts I removed the fuel costs from my garage tally for the v6

Is that a bit of sarcasm I detect. It does have some gaps in the MOT History which is a little worrying. Also £2k seems far too cheap.

Slightly sarky re Burnley Trade Autos premises, yes, but at least they don't photo the car on a pond ;-)

They mention 'full service history'... I'd be wanting a look at that
