My old man is after a NEW pickup, which needs to be auto but these days they all seem to be double cab only. Thats ok in that his current one is double cab, but this time he doesn't want to spend more than 35kish, which limits his choice to the musso or Dmax, but the musso's load bed is not very long.

Anyone know if/why you cant seem to buy a single or king cab auto pickup these days? (maybe merc/vw do but to steep in price for the tax man!)

If you can be bothered then you can get a 2 door 6’4 bed Ram. Price in the US starts from about £22k, dunno what it would cost on the road over here but it will be better than anything Euro or Jap

I just checked and cannot figure out how to configure a 2 door ram of any sort. Help?

$29k starting price, expect to double that importing and taxing in UK, then to be constantly searching for space to park it. biglaugh

Isuzu D_Max is available in an Extended Cab version that I am pretty sure you can spec with an automatic gearbox

I cant imagine parking a single cab pickup should be any issues. Smaller than a sprinter. I have a f350 double cab long bed in the uk!

Not according to Ford UK brochures or god awful configurator, no auto transmission in anything other than double cab.

Some on here continue to trot that crap out every time US trucks are mentioned. I'm sure it'd be impossible for them to park a Transit, if they struggle with the concept of a vehicle any bigger than a VW Golf. I somehow managed to park my F350 duallie without too much trouble for many years.

nope again not, per the terrible comparison or brochures.

Should be a clear section on transmission but is not fro some reason, regardless seems only double cab exists in auto, extended cab is manual only based on the headers on the brochure.

Someone posted pictures of a Hilux which has oddly now been removed, in single/king cab, again nope, Auto in double only.

So there are indeed none it seems...

On a side note The Ford and Isuzu configuarotors and brochures are absolutely awful. I've only looked at car ones before for myself, admittedly not many and limited to saloons or similar, where i suppose not so many options (apart from the Taycan) but these 2 were confusing and hard to use/navigate. How my old man and those of his generation/computer literacy are meant to cope i have no idea!

Thanks, but we are not those kind of people! wink

edit. before anyone takes this the wrong way this is a joke playing on a stereotype of certain people who drive big f off us imported trucks. We actually have family friends who do, but there exceptions...!

Shame, you can get a F150 for the same price as an auto single cab too.
