Why do sales people insist on sending video presentations?

Happens 4/5 times I enquire about a used car. Can you confirm if the car has Apple CarPlay? “Let me send you a personalised video presentation”. I just want to know if it has CarPlay. “Let me send you a presentation”.
Then they send the presentation 2 hours later, it’s 7 minutes long so took some effort to prepare, I watch all of it to find out that CarPlay (etc) isn’t in fact on the car and therefore I won’t be buying.
Waste of time, a little bit of mine but primarily of the sales person’s.

Nice rant, totally agree. k, (if someone wants me to do a WhatsApp video call showing them the car then more than happy to) however I worked with a guy who previously worked elsewhere and they had to do X amount per month whether they were asked for one or not, if they didn't do the amount they were supposed to then they were penalised financially through their commission.
They would have been dreamt up by some bod who has never actually done the job because "this is what people want" when in fact they don't!

A couple of new car orders we had placed fell through during 2021. Spotted an ideal spec used E class Merc at the main dealers a couple of hours away.
Enquired, salesman called me straight back, I had a couple of specific questions re the exact spec and asked for a video which was done immediately. Watched and bought the car, all done and dusted within an hour of my initial enquiry.
Seems a good way to get a deal done.

This. Used to sell VW's, you had to send X amount per week or you were penalised.
