Number of keepers

Hey all!
I put a deposit down on a car that had one previous owner.

It transpired after some checks that I would actually be the 5th owner
(The checks brought up that the current owner is the fourth, so 3 previous keepers making myself the 5th?)

I wasnt too happy about this, as I placed a deposit in good faith that the information of the vehicle was correct. This also naturally puts doubt about further aspects of the vehicle.

Am I entitled to the refund of my deposit?
I understand number of keepers arn't an issue for some people, but it would work out that the car has had one owner a year, and I trusted the information I was given on the advert.

It has an affect on the value so you'd be right to want to get your deposit back given you've been misled.

Private seller or dealer, and do you have anything showing it was claimed as single owner?

It’s a dealer. And yes the advert says twice in the listing it has one previous owner - I have screenshots.

If you don’t want it then I would think you have reasonable grounds to get your deposit back, the car is not as advertised.
Dealer may not make it easy for you though. Good Luck.

It’s a 66 plate.
I contacted the garage and they confirmed they had gotten it wrong regarding the number of keepers of the vehicle

I meant the full reg. But if the garage have admitted they got it wrong, they should just refund your deposit.
