What Large, Fast Estate?

Y'all are the reason I own my Elise, so I'm back for more PH Massive ideas...
I like my RS4 a lot but with kids being larger than they were rear headroom is becoming a bit of an issue on longer trips. I'd also not be upset about a bigger boot, as with the kids and dog we're resigned to a roof box. The box obviously limits speed to 80mph, which, when you are driving a long way makes a journey a PITA.
So, I immediately thought RS6. But it's a class I've not really considered to date. What else should I be looking at? Obviously Merc do a V8 AMG estate of some sort (although if their current interior 'styling' is similar across their entire range, it could well be a no from me), and I guess BMW do a 5 Estate but not a quick one.
I don't want to lose performance, so a Superb, whilst massive, isn't fast enough. If we're going bigger we need more power.
What should I be looking at?
Also, does anything out there have a directly air conditioned boot for the dog? On a hot day, without freezing the cabin he doesn't get much air conditioning and there's a lot of glass back there, meaning he's probably going to end up dehydrated. I'd like to avoid this for obvious reasons.

Everyone has their own preferences but the interior of the current E-class is a very nice place to be. E63 also much more discrete than the RS6. Thanks.
Only other choice is the Alpina B5 Touring.

If you want cheaper, get an E43 you still get the 4WD. Need faster? Get it to MSL in Birmingham and throw £500 at it... You'll be surprised.
More dosh? Need a V8 before we are all driving boring ass AA powered cars with no DNA? Get an E63, but you'd be RWD only, which given you're used to Quattro is going to be very very different in the wet... It will step out! Dog sick bag at the ready :-)
Interior wise, barring the gloss piano console (easily changed for black ash, eBay, £150 and half an hour of your time) the cabin is actually wonderful IMO, just make sure you get a Premium Plus model.
Maintenance wise, 63 Will be similar cost wise to your RS, though the tax isn't quite as bad as "RS Tax". The 43 would be significantly cheaper parts wise, so you could go newer as a result? 2019 cars get the revised steering wheel etc.

Now I think of it, most v large SUVs (X5, Q7 etc) will have larger boots than their estate equivalents but still manage autobahns, assuming you don't mind the compromises and costs of an SUV and your Weimaraner can jump up to the tailgate. (Lovely dogs, I think.)
Personally I'd prefer an estate but given the challenges of quite big dog + luggage for a family with teenagers + no roofbox might limit your options considerably.
