New Cars Without Delays
Discussion
A long shot I imagine, but is anyone aware of any car manufacturers that have relatively decent delivery times on new cars from order (3-4 months for example) or are they all suffering the same supply issues?
Alternatively, any garages that you've visited recently with stock cars available?
Got a little'un on the way in June so a replacement car is required as current vehicle isn't big enough, used prices seem to be getting steeper and it appears I've left it too long on the new car front!
Thanks in advance.

When I have been searching used cars on Autotrader, they put links at the bottom of "new car deals" and I have been surprised to see brand new models in stock and available. OK this particular example is with a Mini which probably won't suit your requirements but could be an idea to search for used cars that would and then scroll to the bottom and see if anything comes up?

From this recent article, it looks like the best bet are Honda, Mazda, Kia or Vauxhall

If you are quite open to spec / colours you may be ok with getting a car with a couple of months.Alternatively, any garages that you've visited recently with stock cars available?

We can get some New Suzuki's within 1 - 2 months if customers take whats available limited choice
I was in an Alfa Romeo dealership on Saturday, just having a browse. Asked about the Guilia, and the current waiting times. Seemingly they had a red Veloce coming in stock this week (cancelled order), and there was a 3 - 4 month wait time on a factory order, which isn't so bad if true.
I'm always a bit dubious of the, "act quick, we have a cancelled order" scenario. I've no reason to doubt it and it could easily be true, but it's fairly standard in sales to push for an "act now, don't delay" position, which always makes me cautious.
In truth, I'm still too busy procrastinating over what to buy anyway, so wasn't looking to buy right now. Just wanted to see a Guilia up close in the flesh.

My local Ford dealer also seems to have plenty of Ranger pickups and Transits of all varieties and flavours. Granted there is not as much as pre-Covid, but 75% of the forecourt is covered with vans. I imagine these are for sale to private retail/personal business owners rather than being offered with fleet discounts.

We bought a KIA Xceed from stock 6 months ago. I understand they have been affected less by chip shortages. From this recent article, it looks like the best bet are Honda, Mazda, Kia or Vauxhall
We had to go through a broker to get the max discount (22%) but they delivered free rather than us having to pick it up.
Prices have gone up and discounts have gone down a little but that is still where I would go today for a quick delivery.

Order on new Audi R8 accepted by them on 14/9 with estimated delivery 06/02/22 and actually picked up 28/1 - appreciate perhaps not usual everyday car and as of yesterday when enquiring about another new Audi was told delivery might well be at least 6 months.
120 new Audis in a random US dealer: https://www.audimckinney.com/new-inventory/index.h...They're just taking the piss out of European buyers. US buyers won't wait months for a new car.

Absolutely, I have said this on other threads but I looked at getting a new Seat Leon pre Covid. Their attitude was you pay full list with GAP, Tyre Insurance, Supaguard etc. and they couldn't be bothered to order anything that wasn't coming up on the computer. Oh, and you will wait six months for it. It is almost like they introduce this delay to make you think you are buying a more premium product that is massively in demand. They're just taking the piss out of European buyers. Erm, I think I will pass.
Try Honda, when I test drove a Jazz they had 11 in stock in the colour I wanted and I could have one next week (not that I wanted one after the test drive)
Depending on your budget and location there are a few decent family type new cars available.
