Want something special, where to start

So the chip shortage and the Ukraine invasion has meant my plans for a new special car (M4, 911 or similar) is now unlikely and it's turned my head somewhat, but it's left me in an area I know very little indeed. So eager for your expertise to help me start my journey looking for something special.
First some criteria.
- it needs to have four seats
- it has to be special - something that will make me feel great every time I get in it.
- I want something that is fun to drive
- I don't want something that financially is going to ruin me.
I have always been nervous of used cars because I may buy one and then it have issues and cost the earth. I've always then felt buying new with the guarantee makes sense. A 911 seemed top end price wise but maintenance for new wasn't too scary price wise.
Therefore where should I start looking. A quick play on autotrader fines a Ferrari California, a few Aston's including the db11 and the odd other.
I'd be looking to go between £80-100k, willing to pay the higher end if I am minimising the scary future bills etc.
What cars should I be looking at? Where is the best place to really swot up on what ownership may be like including costs etc.
If I had to sum up, I'm looking for the impossible really but as close to "modern saloon reliability, super car looks, and not going to ruin me"

It's not really 4 useable seats for anything other than small children but you did mention 911 in your original post so I've mentioned it. Having said that, it's not what I'd class as supercar looks in many ways but it is a lovely useable place to be and you'd probably end up using it more than conventional 'supercars'.

Love it.Did they supply photos of the paintwork under the wrap before you bought it? I've always thought buying a wrapped car is like buying an artex'd house, and would be very suspicious of whats under the surface.

that is one hell of a colour. By supercar looks. Maybe sports car looks was more appropriate. 60-70k will get you in a new MY21 (if there is availability) or a car with <1000 miles with manufacturer warranty.

running costs would be about 60% of a 911 i would think.
Take the missus on holiday with the change. win-win

Personally would avoid the electric, the Taycan for example, absolutely wonderful car in all respects. I have one alongside the aforementioned 911 Turbo S but as an 'event' or as a car to take out for a spirited feel-good drive, it's missing something...

Taycan and etron tempt me but I wonder what the 4-5 year owner experience is going to be like for these EVs and also what EVs are going to be like then.
It feels now is the time to get that last ev.
I have been looking at the mentioned cars and I think on the second hand car list currently is
Aston db11 or rapide (although I think these likely come with extensive servicing costs)
Porsche 911 (last gen) which I imagine has lesser servicing.
Never been a big fan of maseratis. and Ferrari is going to come with massive service costs.
The lotus Evora is an interesting one and I love the Lexus externally but not a big fan of the interiors. Not driven one though.
I don't have a commute and my driving will be weekends. The requirement for two back seats is I have two young boys. The 911 would work for now while they are still young.
The car would.be for trips out, weekends away and perhaps me and the Mrs going somewhere for a few days if we could box the kids off with the grandparents.
It feels now is the time to get that last ev.
