Hello

I never really understood why the reputation are so bad on vauxhall or went this only down since the presentation on top gear. They was great in motorsports Kadett C GTE or the Magnum firenza 2.3 what you get for a limited budget is amazing of course the interior is not the best style but I think the capability practicality performance is fabulous.

What are your thoughts.

Happy gassing

It depends on what you want from the car the but the 2.0t is the pick & more tuneable if you want a sleeper:

I’m sure it will be pretty disappointing when you realise it’s not that fast anymore and your stuck with a vectra.

I've had a go in a few 2.8Ts (mainly in Saabs) so wondered how cheap they actually are. AT has 2 of them, the cheapest being 4 grand. 4 grand for a 16 year old Vectra! I actually quite like the Vectra - they're a guilty pleasure. My old boss had one at the same time I had a Mondeo ST TDCI and I always thought that the Vectra handled pretty well compared to the Mondeo.

A work colleague of mine has one

The front brakes get a hammering and will empty your wallet when they need changing (approx every 10k miles for discs and pads)

Had that engine in a Signum, mapped to just shy of 300bhp

TBH, never really felt that quick. Just lacked something.

Yep

I see not a lot enthusiast here Ive read some better comments.i don't buy this car for Speed speed I had at the end 90th for the next 20years with my 6litr Mercedes c55 estate w202 470hp and other amg variations this time is almost gone I'm happy with underestimated cars and what you get for little money 1 owner and low miles unmolested from bling bling and godzilla tuning that's interesting for me today But taste's are different of course.

I'm a serial Vauxhall lover.
Previously
4 mk2 cavaliers including a CalibrE and an Sri
A mk3 cavalier
3 mk3 astras
A mk4 astra
A 3.2 MV6 omega
Now
Wife has an Astra J 5 door hatch
Son has an Astra mk4
I have an Astra J GTC

If the price is right. And they are looked after they tend to reliable in my experience. And easy to fix.

Never had a vectra but there's a vectra VXR around the corner and to me it looks the bizness.
