Hi all

Ive got a 09 reg 2.0 MX5 NC soft top. Ive had it 4 or 5 years and not put much mileage on it, weekend use only really. 30,000 ish on it. Main Dealer service since Ive had it. Not before that but only had 6000 odd on it anyway so wasnt worried.

Motorway initial expected sale price was 4100. Id take that I think. Dont want to deal with selling privately and the worry over money not arriving or staying in bank account once car keys handed over.

On motorway it says "Dealer arrives and collects your car" "Within 24 hours money is in your bank account"

So Ive got to give my car and keys to a random bloke who turns up and rely that the money will appear later?! Not convinced I like that approach.

Any one any comments? Anyone used, and given the keys over before the money arrived and it showed up ok?

Thanks

I've used Motorway twice, both times money was in my account before vehicle was driven away. First time the dealer paid me 2 days before collection so i could clear the finance off before he took it away, second time the dealer sent an appraiser who checked it over then drove it away after the balance of the positive equity was in my bank and the dealer settled the finance a few days later. I imagine if you own yours outright you will be paid in full before the car goes. Once you agree the sale price with Motorway they will give the buyer your contact info and will check in with you the next day to make sure they have been in touch.

Beware though that prices offered can go down. My suggested price was 6200 but after it went to the dealer auction that they hold, I was offered 5500. I still begrudgingly accepted it but 8 days later I'm still waiting for the dealer to get in touch. I've put it up for sale somewhere else now.

Sorry slow reply. I *think* its a Mk3 sport. 2.0 engine anyway. Just over 28000 on it.

Rear wheels starting to corrode need a refurb really. Headlamps have gone misty again. Autoglym-ed em clear a year or so ago need doing again.
Front wheels were done a few years ago still in great nick.

Did an online enquiry against a Merc SLK and for "excellent" they offered me £5100. I think in reality though the car is between "Good" and "Excellent". Could be a possibilty though. Just need to find the remaining £12000 somewhere. Doh.
