Coupe 4 seats around £45k

I had set my heart on a 981 Boxster GTS this spring as a 2nd car, circumstances are changing and saying bye to the company BMW 530e and selling my Z3 2.2 (Boxster was replacing the Z3) I will be going down to one car, no room for 2 cars for the next couple of years.
I have a flexible budget around £40 to £45k can stretch this or happily spend less.
I want something ideally 6 cylinders, petrol, can accommodate 4 people, decent handling, will be used every day, makes me smile when look at it and want to drive for the sake of driving.
It will be required to take us to the South of France once a year, we usually also go to Cornwall each year as well, promised my son NC500 trip, that sort of thing but not track days. Day to day short trips, school run etc and local meetings as working from home, weekends all over the place going to sporting fixtures.
Ideally still in manufactures warranty or can qualify for manufacture extended warranty.
S5 coupe – at the bottom of the budget could get a decent one for low £30’s and would be one the very last petrol ones with great spec. Lovely interior but not sure about the handling. Could push to a new one but the diesel just doesn’t sit right with me.
RS5 – struggle to get one I would want with out really pushing the budget.
M4 Comp F82 – a strong contender could get one of the last 2020 low miles cars. But had so many BMW’s fancied a bit of change although never an M.
Mercedes E53 coupe – as a day to day cover all bases could be good choice and maybe more relaxed on the longer drives. Henry Catchpole did a good long-term review on one which was positive.
Maserati – looks, theatre ticks all the boxes but scares me on running costs and throwing up big bills, would live in a state of paranoia.
Is there something else I should be looking at?
Don’t like the interiors of Mustangs. S7, 6 series or 8 series too big.

Does it have to be a coupe? I'd take either over the M4 or S5 as far more special.

RCF good shout though If you like BMW’s like you mention and you never have driven an M go and drive one then see how you feel.
I have had Audi, Mercs and Porsches plus a few bmws.
M cars are great and the M4 coupe is a great car.
You don’t even need to spend the top money, I had a F82 M4 and loved it but now need 5 seats so just bought a F90 M5 - it’s an absolute weapon.

Another vote for the Maserati here, though I'd also be happy with the M4 or S/RS5. The Mercs are good too, but personally not a fan of the looks

Nope. I do my own with a friend who owns a garage.
The stuffy buyers will raise their noses at the thought the car doesn't have dealer stamps or any stamps. So I often laugh that people will overpay for cars because of stamps and no proof the car has actually been serviced. Anyone can stamp a book.
