£10K estate help

I'm sorry in advance for yet another 'what car for £x?', but here goes.

I'm looking to replace the small hatchback we have with an estate (Baby is on the way, already have the dog and another 2 children).

The budget is around 10k, I have that in cash.

I've been very close to taking on an i40 tourer (Post 2015 Premium, Pre 2015 Premium SE) but something in the back of my mind stops me!

Things to have:

£10k budget
Big boot with decent access
ISOFIX
40mpg+
£180 or less road tax
Comfy seats - Leather ideally
Decent speakers
Typical electrical tricks (Sat Nav, Heated Seats, Auto Lights and Wipers)

I am selling my E-350 merc. Brilliant car that ticks all those boxes, huge boot space and all the gadgets plus super comfy on the long run. Tax is higher but the car is below your budget by 1500 quid.

In a similar boat - wife is disabled and we need a bigger daily that'll take her wheelchair etc easily.

Not quite an estate but have you looked at Skoda Yetis? I was reluctant but we went to test drive the dinky 1.2 TSI version at the weekend with a DSG box and it was brilliant! Felt MASSIVE inside but not big on the outside, really well built, decent amount of kit. Looked at it back to back with a Merc C class estate and I really, really wanted to dislike the Yeti vs the Merc and yet I can't get the Yeti out my head!

The best estate car I've owned, that was cheap to run, was a Fabia Monte Carlo with the four pot 1.2 Tsi engine, 2015 onwards model, 110bhp engine.

£20 Road tax

6 speed gearbox.

Some have heated seats (Option)

Some have auto lights & wipers (Option)

Decent sound system.

Monte Carlo has very decent spec.

Can do over 60mpg on a very careful run.

Skoda dealers seem to be a decent bunch

How many kiddie seats do you need to fit in? Hopefully less than 3, as there's not many estates that can do that without putting your missus in the back.

The i40's are okay but the 1.7d isn't the most frugal & a bit gruff, personally I feel they're not the best value

I have to say at this price point I'd say that you should take a good look at the Insignia they're very good cars & will be just as reliable as the i40 or anything else that'll get listed.
