Last few cars:
Monaro 6lVXR
TT TDI cab
M240i cab
Leon cupra estate
840i GC
GR Yaris

Only 2 months in with the GR and it's an absolute weapon but having come directly from an 8 series I've realised I'm old, look a bit silly in a shoebox, and appreciate some degree of specialness to the cabin as well as pace and dynamics!

Budget around 40k, or more likely, £10k deposit + £400/month

I like the convenience/security of new, or at least, warrantied. Would aim to keep for about 2 years and ideally increase my equity over that term.

I drive about 50 miles return to work, park in a multistorey, route mainly motorway, and.would like the option of using it at weekends including a dog so 2 seaters are less preferable.

So far, considerations have been (all new) , S4 avant, M240i coupe, Mustang 5.0 coupe/cab so very diverse!

I like character, performance and modern creature comforts - decent stereo with streaming etc but want it to feel special. 25mpg mixed minimum. Open to used cars as well as cheaper new PCPs.

What you got for me?!

Alfa Giulia QF. 5 year warranty from new, Apple Carplay, 35mpg touring economy (according to Autocar). Character and performance by the bucketload.

Thanks so far! RS3 probably a little too dull, Mustang seriously considered (saw a Oxford White GT today which looked epic), f-type would be my choice of 2 seater but too restrictive with the dog (drive a manual 380 S a few years ago which I loved).

Top suggestion so far which I'd almost forgot about is the QF. Would like to have a go in one and definately get the Alfa appeal - had a 159 ti some years ago which was just stunning. Blows my mind that the QF has 500 horses!

New RS3 won't be anywhere near 400 a month.
Looks to be a great car though.

If it was my 40k, I'd be looking for a M2C.
