Audi SQ5 v SQ7

Evening,

Considering a 2017/18 SQ5 or SQ7. I have x 2 medium size mutts (Staffie + Bully Mix).

Should I go for the big loud 7 or the mild mannered 5 ?

Both tick most boxes (performance / size / looks)

Opinions appreciated.

If you don't need the space of the 7 I don't know why you wouldn't go for the smaller car.

Will use less, fuel, tyres, brakes etc. Handle better...I could go on.

Is it just you & the dogs or do you have kids? If it's the later then I'd go for the 7.

I’ve got the 7, lots of continental journeys.. (2 kids no dogs).

Is the 5 of those years a petrol?

Does the 5 have air suspension?

Does the 5 have enough room in the boot for dogs?

The Q5 has a surprisingly small interior. It's really not noticeably bigger than a Golf internally.

you'd be better with an estate (a lower car) for your dogs to jump in and out of. It may play havoc on their joints and the bumper will be scratched to fk

No direct experience of a SQ7, but my experience may be useful to you.

I ordered a Q7 which was delayed 4 months, they put me in a SQ5 during the delay. It’s a really good car and much more suited to my 20 miles A road into the city commute/school run I actually do than the Q7 was, hence I looked at changing my order but didn’t as the Q7 was barely more expensive. I was very glad I hadn’t changed order, the quality and ride (air suspension) on the Q7 were for more of an improvement than the relative price difference. It made 6+ hour runs feel easy.

I’m repeatedly drawn back to the SQ7 V8 in the classifieds.

Just what I was thinking as well, which is why I moved away from SUV's to Estates.

Thank you all . Ironically I had a fast Audi estate in mind. The S6 or RS6 are now a target. Will post when purchased
