£10k, ULEZ commuter able to carry bikes and surfboards

I am starting a new job on the outskirts of the ULEZ zone with a 100 mile round trip commute. As such I require a change from my 335i to avoid spending a fortune on fuel.
So I would like some suggestions for a car, around £10k, ulez compliant, capable of carrying bikes and a surfboard on the roof/inside (I have rekindled my love for both in lockdown), returning decent mpg, not boring and not uncomfortable.
