Hi - I recently sold a car on an auction site. The purchaser is requesting for me to raise an invoice so they can make payment, I have given them my full bank details. I thought I just had to issue a standard seller/contract receipt. Is this normal? Should I, and are there any legal implications by issuing an invoice?

Providing it's a private sale, yes that's all you need to do.

The AA and RAC have good templates.

Did you sell via ebay by any chance.

If so 'invoice' is an ebay term for sending payment details

Thanks for template!
No it was on CC. He keeps on insisting on invoice despite me saying seller contract is enough.

Send him the links to RAC and AA best practice and explain why you are following those.
