Peugeot 208 and general new/nearly new car advice

Not an area I'm familiar with at all as I'm always going after an older troublesome car but...the other half is back learning to drive and she likes the latest 208. The electric one was very impressive but it'll have to be the petrol for now.
What's the current market like in terms of what's wise to go for? She can afford to pretty much buy one outright at around the £20k mark so assuming that would ultimately be the best way to go vs. PCP/HP? At least you actually own the car immediately.
Have seen (and test driven) this one and my only concern is it's possibly a touch on the high side given the warranty won't have long to go, although it is a decent spec.- https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206036...

It's a Peugeot so in general the depreciation will likely be rather severe. Not that it is a bad car, but not something I'd buy nearly new and only use for a couple of years before swapping again.
Have a look at the values of 16/17 plate models and you'll get an idea of values, or may well be tempted with the huge saving to be made. Even more so if there's a few 'dings' which are typically associated with a learners car (but not always).
