T-Roc R vs SQ2 vs E-Pace vs Cupra Ateca

First post ever!
Looking at buying what I am thinking of referring to as the 'ultimate compromise car'. It needs to meet the following criteria:
1. Fit a 6'6 man comfortably as the driver
2. Work well as a family car (have a 1 year old)
3. Be fun to drive and fast when not performing family duties (this is a want, not a need!)
4. Be small/short enough that my wife feels comfortable driving it (our current mk1. Tiguan is 'too big' and estates are also out).
5. Be a maximum of 5 years old and within a used budget of £25-£30k asking price.
6. Not be electric (yet)
Within my 2nd hand budget of max £30k and offering around 300BHP I have narrowed it down to the following options:
T-Roc R, Audi SQ2, Jag E-Pace and Cupra Ateca. Does anyone have any experience of these cars as a tall driver for driving position, or any particular recommendations out of the above?

E-Pace - For me it just felt like a reverse-tardis, I feel like it's a huge step down from the F-Pace and I don't think I could live with it.
Cupra Ateca - Loved it when I had a test drive, it's not as sleek as the Jag but it certainly felt like a very capable family car that could put a smile on your face.
SQ2 - Drove a friend's a few years ago. I hate the look of this thingand I also think these haven't aged particularly well but that's obviously very subjective. I found the engine fun and it really wasn't a bad car to drive, I just couldn't understand why they hadn't got an S3 and saved some money or spent a little more on an SQ5 if they were wanting the SUV experience.
T-Roc R - Can't comment on this as such but if it's anything like comparing the Golf R to the Leon R then I feel like Cupra make a more fun and engaging car, even if the underpinnings are the same.

I went for an E-Pace, It's one of the shortest times I've owned a car. Nothing wrong with it as a car but as J1990 said " For me it just felt like a reverse-tardis"
Admittedly I came from a Volvo V90 so most things feel small after that. But a tiny boot hampered by the roof line and non retractable load space cover made the boot a pita to use for anything bigger than a file box, add to that the back seats with car seats fitted seemed claustrophobic even with a pano roof. From the drivers seat however it was a lovely place to be.
It lasted 4 months before I traded it in for a 5 Series Touring. Never looked back

Cupra Ateca is based on, you guessed it, the Seat Ateca. The Seat Ateca is effectively a Tiguan in Seat clothing so safe to rule that out on size as it will be bigger than a MK1 Tiguan.

Wife likes the E-pace for space,
3year lease just extended to 5 ( nothing as good for the money for an end of term 70k mileage)
but previous cars were in reverse order

And a puma “ Steve McQueen” not the new fat one
I find it not too bad and although 6” shorter ( than Op, not my wife I’m not Tom Cruise)
plenty of head room for me and I imagine 6-6” +

How about not another terrible SUV, instead how do you fancy a BMW 340i or 540i tourer?
In every single way the car will be a better drive, plus you will have the very sweet B58 engine and plenty of room for stuff
I know so many people have gravitated to SUVs in recent years, but there are still SO many better options available.

OP's missus is the driving factor in the small SUV requirement, happy wife happy life and all that...In every single way the car will be a better drive, plus you will have the very sweet B58 engine and plenty of room for stuff

My Wife has a normal Q3 (2.0 tdi 150 S-Tronic) - I think size wise it is perfect, we don't have kids but the boot swallows up everything we have thrown at it so far, electric tailgate is great and retractable load cover is good.
It's a bit too slow for me as a daily, doesn't have much torque - Double the power would be a fantastic drive so the RS Q3 would be a really solid choice.
Facelifts look a lot nicer 2015 onwards and I'd aim for the tech pack. It gives you a much higher resolution infotainment screen which whilst it is still dated, at least it is crisp. Also get a colour centre screen in the dash.
