Right so I need a reliable load lugger (estate or SUV) for a few months for as little cash as possible. Something I know will start every time. Mileage / fuel type / age not an issue. Ideally easy to resell.

No necessarily so.

Don’t buy anything that’s too cheap - it very likely will be a dog.

By that I mean in terms of brakes and steering, not whether the radio works.
