Inspiration / Recommendations - £10k budget

Handing back my lease car and have £10k to purchase a replacement but have no idea what to go for.

Ideally want something 2016 onwards, less than 80k, can carry a MTB, so large hatchback or estate. Will be used for 1-2 commutes of 20 mile round trip a month and a few 200 mile or so round trips, maybe further each month for MTB.

Any suggestions? Octavia VRS might be just in budget if I go slightly more mileage or a year older but not sure on it.

I can get my large trail bike or dh bike in the back of my gt86 with the front wheel off. Bit of a faff but worth it for the drive. Cost £8k.

Impressive that the bike fits but I really would prefer something slightly easier to get the bike in and out of, especially when it’s muddy.

Have you considered a roof rack ?

I have a Mercedes c class coupe (2013) and it’s a doddle to get the bike onto the roof and secure , keeping the interior clean

I have but would rather have it inside the car for risk of theft etc…

I'd say take a good look at the 1.5T Insignia SRI, they have a huge boot especially with the seats folded down:

Insignia seems to fit the bill quite well, not something I’d considered.
