In the market for a Golf GTI/GTI Performance circa £20k and seen a couple of cars at the above garages? Any feedback on what they were like, good and bad. There just isnt that many GTIs out there so looking at all options.

CARZ are horrific to deal with. Ludicrious hidden admin fees and if you pay cash and don't go for the gap/tyre insurance etc they try every trick to avoid selling it to you. The reviews make great reading!

Never bought from CARZ, but I'm "lucky" enough to like walking distance from one branch (ex-Vauxhall dealership turned into CARZ).

Been in with a relative looking to buy a car, and to be fair, all of the staff were nice, friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the actual buying experience as they never found a car that appealed, but can't criticize the initial impression.

However, their prices are terrible. I don't just mean because the current car market is inflated either. I've had a nosey at their prices over the years, and always found them a couple of £k higher than equivalent cars at other nearby dealers or car supermarkets. Of course, if you see a car you like, at a price you want, fair enough, but I've generally not found them competitive.

Just the name would put me off!

Carz? Really?

Almost as bad as putting a backwards ‘R’ in the company name to try and stand out. Left to the preserve of back street, bombsite traders with no marketing budget or imagination.

Never found them good to deal with ,first time I visited the salesman said now we’re not here to sell you a car we’re here to build a relationship…!!!!

Made an enquiry on a Golf GTD before Christmas and tried to negotiate on the price ( normal practice) and they flately refused to drop a penny ,didn’t stop them phoning many times after to see if I was still interested…..yes still interested but not at that price…!!!

I wanted to buy a car from Car Giant, but I wasn't happy with the price, in comparison with other cars, considering a few items were missing - only 1 key, aerial missing, no tools in boot etc. I tried haggling on their "fixed prices" and only got £200 off. The salesguy made noises that they would be more flexible if I took out GAP/warranty. I made sure not to take paint protection. I took out their 3 year gold spangly warranty for £799 and GAP and got another £250 of discount. When I got home with the car, I cancelled both as they are regulated products and subject to a cooling off period!
