Buying advice for a Freelander 2

Considering a FL2 for a bit of mild off roading and green laning fun over the winter. Overall they seem fairly reliable from what I’ve read.

Any major issues to look out for?

Also, can someone give a quick rundown of the specs available and the ones to go for?
