When to pay remaining deposit?

I’ve not taken out a new PCP for a while so a little rusty on the process

Brand new car on pcp and I’ve paid a small deposit to ensure the car is mine. Dealer will setup the new pcp finance agreement and I need to pay the remaining deposit amount.

Do I pay this on collection day or prior? It’s just under 2 weeks away and the dealer is suggesting I pay now, which I don’t think I will.

Just checking what others do in this situation

Isn't it usually " cleared " funds by collection so a few days pre doesn't sound unreasonable -a couple of weeks does.

Good point, to be honest I was just expecting to pay via card there and then at collection

For both my new cars this year I paid the balance of the deposit on the day before, by bank transfer - they wouldn't allow pay by card on the day, but they did 3 years ago.
