Suzuki Celerio thoughts?
Discussion
Need a cheap 2nd car as a city run around.
Can get a Suzuki Celerio 1.0 5 years old (17 plate) , full history, 12 months MOT, bottom of the range (SZ2), 53,000 miles for £4.9k.
Test drove it and it’s fine, loads of space for such a small car, no noticeable issues.
Does anyone have any thoughts, feedback or ownership experience of the Celerio?
Anything to watch out for?
Quite a few on eBay and autotrader that have hit over 100k, engines seem to be trouble free provided they get regular clean oil.

I bought one which was under a year old and under 1000 miles and had it for about a year. It was generally ok, used very little fuel and was reasonable to drive.
The gearing, like much these days, is very tall, so required a lot of gear changing - this probably contributed to the skinny front wheels locking up when downshifting going into roundabouts.
My example was already developing surface rust on the rear suspension arms and there are no arch liners on the rear.

Bump, What did you replace it with out of interest? Friend is Looking at one for delivering takeaways in. 6 year old models for around 2.5-3k (higher miles but just wants the newest cheapest car he can get on 0 VED and 50mpg plus) usually runs old diesel runabouts but wants something a bit newer and presentable as a city runabout as well as a work car.
Cheers

An update
This has been without doubt the best 2nd car school run vehicle we have ever purchased.
Genuine 58mpg despite 80% of its driving being around town in rush hour traffic.
Nothing gone wrong in a year of ownership, sailed through MOT no advisories.
No silly stop start or gadgets - it has a simple DAB radio, central locking and front electric windows and that’s all the toys you get, little to go wrong.
I love the fact it’s long geared, rarely need to take it above 3rd gear around town. Sits comfortably at 40mph in 3rd.
Have done a handful of motorway runs, will plod along at 75mph without issue.
Takes 2 adults and 3 kids with school bags every day without issue (more spacious than the corsa hire car I had recently).
Insurance premium renewal last month was £282
Going to put 4x uni royals on the car this month to help it in the wet as the current tyres are down to 2.0 mm
For the money can not complain, well worth considering if you want a basic economic 5 door city run about.
